Speed Shore Corporation
Speed Shore Corporation, the originator of aluminum hydraulic trench shoring, is recognized worldwide as the industry leader. For more than 5 decades, Speed Shore has remained in the forefront with the most advanced line of trench shoring equipment available.
Whatever the Application, Speed Shore has the System
Speed Shore has developed an extensive line of standard and heavy duty vertical shores, waler systems, shoring shield, skeleton boxes and four-way manhole braces; all hydraulically actuated. Applications extend from simple vertical shoring to complex custom systems for you site-specific trench shoring needs.
Protecting your Personnel and Profits
Designed to increase productivity while insuring worker safety, Speed Shore products offer significant advantages over tradition shoring methods:
- 100% above ground installation and removal
- Increased job efficiency, production and profit
- Hydraulic preload of trench walls to prevent ground movement
- Reduction in size of the shoring crew
Excavation requirements are minimized, thus reducing fill and compaction needs, and dramatically lowering cost per foot of trench. Designed to shore vertical trenches as well as less uniform excavations, Vertical Shores offer optimum versatility when restrictions are imposed by parallel or crossing utilities. In more stable soils, Vertical Shore may be used directly against the trench face. When conditions indicate trench face sloughing or local raveling, plywood or similar sheeting may be used in conjunction with vertical shores.
Vertical Shores
Speed Shore's aluminum hydraulic Vertical Shores® are the safest, most versatile means of shoring and excavation. Typically, one worker can safely shore a trench as quickly as it is excavated, allowing the excavator to operate at full digging capacity. Active pre-loading of trench walls maintains vertical trench sides, preventing soil movement and optimizing work space.
Selection of the proper system will provide unequalled support for timber, steel or aluminum sheering while maximizing workspace within the open bays. For extreme ground conditions, all Speed Shore Waler Systems maybe reinforced with the insertion of additional cylinders at any point along the waler. In addition, Speed Shore's innovative Speed Struts® maybe quickly adapted to allow for puller end-loading capability.
Waler Systems
When Excavating in less stable soils requiring closer or intermittent sheeting, count on Speed Shore's Waler Systems for trench wall support. Their lightweight construction allows for quick installation and removal completely from above ground, keeping personnel safely out of un-shored trenches. Available in standard, medium and heavy-duty configurations, Speed Shore's waler Systems cover and expansive range of soil and sheeting variations to meet site-specific shoring requirements.
Speed Shore's Shoring Shields feature the exclusive Speed Strut®, which incorporate hydraulic cylinder and return springs with rugged telescoping steel sleeves. They allow for 3 and 4 sided trench support, while providing increased protection to critical components. Quick-connect pins and hydraulic fittings permit rapid assembly/disassembly, and change over to larger or smaller Speed Struts. An exclusive patented hydraulic manifold® enables control of all cylinder from a single point outside the excavation, permitting precise regulation of cylinder pre-load in irregular, non-uniform excavations. Shoring Shields are available in either a light weight corrugated sheeting or their exclusive smooth-wall aluminum panel exterior.
Shoring Shields
Speed Shore's innovative, patented Shoring Shields® combine the benefits of aluminum hydraulic shoring with the solid-wall security of a static shield. Constructed of high-strength aluminum alloys, Shoring Shields are idea for municipal maintenance and repair, cable splices, pipeline bell holes, vault placements, trenchless technology pits and light utility installations. The solid-sheeting exterior provides for optimum personnel protection while their lightweight design insures ease of handling with a rubber-tired backhoe.
Modular Aluminum Panel Systems (MAPS)
Speed Shore's Modular Aluminum Panel System (MAPS) is engineered for high strength, ultra-light weight and ease of handling. Comprised of modular panels, end-members and adjustable spreaders, the system is light enough to transport by pickup, and can quickly be configured for a 2, 3 or 4-sided applications. A two-man crew cab readily assemble the system by hand for rapid placement in the trench by a rubber-tired backhoe or mini-excavator.
the foam-filled, double-wall aluminum panels are available in a full range of standard sizes to 16 feet in length. Extruded end-members, are available in lengths from 2 to 10 feet, allow easy pin-and-keeper connection of panels and spreader in various combinations, forming the exact configuration required at the work site. Various spreader options are available, to include adjustable telescoping steel spreaders, hydraulic cylinders and screw jackets.
the MAPS system is ideal for utility maintenance and repair, cable splice pits, plumbing repairs, gas, sewer and water taps and other light utility installations - including trenchless technology pits. Speed Shore's Modular Aluminum Panel System is the preferred choice for municipalities, contractors and utilities seeking an extremely versatile, lightweight trench safety system.
Aluminum Panel Shields
Speed Shore's Aluminum Panel Shields (APS) provide exceptional strength at minimal weight - as little as half the weight of comparable steel trench shields. These versatile aluminum trench shields are specifically designed for municipalities, utility companies, plumber and contractors who generally use a rubber-tired backhoe or light excavator.
Available in a full range of sizes and configurations, Speed Shore's Aluminum Panel Shields offer the most complete array of standard features and options in the industry. Rugged steel lifting and pulling eyes, heavy-duty stacking sockets and foam filled walls are just a few of the many featured offered. A variety of spreader options are available, to include adjustable telescoping steel spreaders, hydraulic cylinders, and fixed-length static spreaders. The shields smooth exterior walls minimize pulling friction, while preventing the accumulation of dirt and debris.
Ideal for utility maintenance and repair, pipeline bell holes, cable splice pits, and light duty installations, Speed Shore's Aluminum Panel Shields offer the ultimate in lightweight, high capacity trench shielding.
Steel-Framed Aluminum Panel Shields (SF-APS)
Speed Shore's popular Aluminum Panel Shields (APS) are not available with a rugged steel frame, creating the only true aluminum-wall "drag box" in the industry. Weighing in at about half the weight of comparable steel trench shields, Speed shore's Steel-Framed APS is specifically designed for contractors, utilities, plumbers, and municipalities who prefer the use of a rubber-tired backhoe or light excavator, yet desire a durable, high-capacity, lightweight shield to pull along the trench as work progresses.
Available in a full range of sizes and configurations, Speed Shore's Steel-Framed APS offers the most comprehensive array of standard features and options on the industry. Rugged steel lifting and pulling eyes, heavy-duty stacking sockets and foam-filled walls are just a few of the many features offered. Steel Spreaders are fully interchangeable for varying trench widths, and optional knife-edge bottoms are available. Their exclusive narrow profile, double-walls to shield debris and reduce pulling friction. Ideal for light utility installations, and municipal maintenance and repair, Speed Shore's unique steel frame provides the toughness and durability expected from a "drag box", allowing rugged treatment that other aluminum shield simply cannot withstand.
Double-Wall Shields
